With regard to the electronic notification system of the Tax Authorities and in view of the forthcoming Christmas season, we would like to remind you that if you do not want to be sent notifications on certain days (a total of 30 days a year), you must inform the tax authorities through the electronic office of the AEAT, as follows:
- Access http://www.agenciatributaria.es/
- Under the menu “Access directly” you will find “Notifications”.
- Access “Request days when notifications are not sent to the authorised email address (DEH).”
The days when you are not available to receive electronic notifications must be requested at least 7 days before the effective date.
Consequences of not checking the electronic mailbox:
If after ten days from when the notification has been put in your electronic mailbox, the content of such has not been read the notification shall be considered to have been rejected and the time periods will start to respond to this.
This could mean, for example, that a notification about a payment might become final if the time periods established to submit allegations or file an appeal or claim expire, therefore it is no longer possible to review the matter, even if there are mistakes in the payment.
Furthermore, fines might be imposed if the notifications are ignored and, in the case of payments with receipts, interest in arrears and/or surcharges as well.
